This type of display is used especially in industrial field when it's necessary to visualize clearly numerical data from long distances (from 5 up to 300 meters according to the models), for example in an industrial shed or in a sporting stadium, even if in presence of direct sunlight.
The bright part of the device is composed by a series of LED (Light Emission Diode).
The Numeric Display can be integrated in a process of production connecting them to an industrial machine, a PC or a PLC by the following types of input: serial RS232/422/485; dry contacts N/O; parallel BCD or multiplex BCD; in tension (0-10V, 0-5V, 1-5V); in current (4-20 MA, 0-20 MA).
"Counter" and "Chronometer" versions can be operated by: N/O dry contacts; buttons located on the a side of the chassis; radio command; keyboard connected with a cable; wireless infrared rays keyboard.
"Counter" version has the following standard functions: Up or Down (increase or decrease of a unit at every contact), Reset and Preset. On request it's possible to implement particular functions, for examples: an increase of 10 units each contact; When the visualized number reaches a pre-settled number, the device operates another external device or a siren of alarm, by an output for a relè.
"Chronometer" has these standard functions: Start, Stop, Reset, Preset starting number, UP or DOWN count. It is possible to visualize hours, minutes, seconds and cents of second. According to the type of timing you want to visualize you need to choose the number of digits to build the display/Chronometer with: from 2 up to 8.
Also for chronometers it is possible to implement personalized functions like: Stop at a programmed number; periodic closing of an external contact; closing of an external contact when reaching a pre-settled intermediate time.
It is possible to have the digits with the followings colours: red (standard), green, yellow, amber and blue (optional).
You can have a numbers of digits from 1 up to 32.
The Numeric Display devices are available with the following digit heights:
Cm. 5,6 readable as far as about 15 meters;
Cm. 10 " " " Mt. 35;
Cm. 15 " " " Mt. 52;
Cm. 23 " " " Mt. 80;
Cm. 30 " " " Mt. 100;
Cm. 40 " " " Mt. 140;
Cm. 50 " " " Mt. 170.

The models with digits Cm. 5,6 and Cm. 10 are made with "seven segments" LED on resin bricks: they have no excessive brightness and they are well readable close up and from any angling; this type of LED is recommended when the display has to be installed indoor and it is not directly illuminated by sunlight.
On all the other models the typology of the LED is Super bright: these models are also well readable in presence of strong sunlight and they are therefore suitable for outdoors.
All the models can be supplied with the chassis predisposed to be installed outdoors exposed to atmospheric agents (IP43). Moreover it is possible to have a greater level of protection for cases in which the display has to be installed in a more critical environment, for example in places where strong throws of water are used from the bottom upward (IP65) or in an industrial shed where there are very aggressive acid vapors.
