Multitext allows to visualize pages with the text on more than one line. This type of display is suitable in areas where it is necessary to attract attention on important information and the text must to be readable also from long distance (from 5 up to 200 meters according to the models).
The messages can be inserted by a PC and our software Mediatext-Pro (compatible withWindows95/98/ME/XP). The text inserted in the PC is transmitted to the display by a serial cable that connects the RS232/422/485 ports of the PC and of the display. We can develop personalized software to solve specific problems (example: movie subtitles in cinemas). Moreover we can supply the serial communication protocol, to allow the user to autonomously develop specific software.For industrial automation applications it is possible to connect the Multitext to a PC/PLC in several ways: by the serial port; by 8 dry contacts N/O to visualize 8 pre-memorized pages; by 8 bit binary code to visualize 26 pre-memorized pages.Multitext keeps memory of the messages even when it is switched off but not for more than 90 days. It is possible to visualize time and date. Models are available with only one colour (Monocolor) to choose among red (standard), green, yellow, amber and blue (optional) and Multicolour models that can visualize three colours at the same time: red, green and yellow.
To choose the suitable Multitext model it is advisable that you ask yourself these three questions: - 1) Is it going to be installed indoors or outside exposed to sunlight? - 2) From which distance does it have to be readable? - 3) How much information readable on each page? So how many letters on each line?
Multitext series is divided in six main typologies characterized by the height of the letters and by their brightness.
The following letter heights are available:
Cm. 3, readable as far as about 8 meters;
Cm. 5, " 13 meters;
Cm. 7, " 20 meters;
Cm. 11, " 30 meters;
Cm. 16, " 50 meters;
Cm. 20, " 60 meters;
On models that have 3 and 5 centimeters height letters, the LED (Light Emission Diode: the bright part of the device) are of the "Dot Matrix" typology: they have not excessive brightness and they are well readable from a short distance and from any angling; this type of LED is recommended when the display has to be installed indoors and not directly illuminated by sunlight.
On all the other models the typology of the LED is Super bright: these models are well readable also in presence of a strong sunlight and they are therefore suitable for outdoor use. The displays with Super bright LED are also recommended for indoor in case there is strong artificial illumination, as for a television study, or when they have to be readable from over 13 meters.
You can have the following amount of letters on each line: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60.

The chassis of the Multitext has been planned to be installed outdoors exposed to atmospheric agents (IP43). Besides it is possible to ask for a greater level of protection for cases in which the display has to be installed in a more critical environment, for example in places where strong throws of water are used from the bottom upward (IP65) or in an industrial shed where there are very aggressive acid vapours.
